LONGVIEW — The Cleburne Lady Jackets remained unbeaten after their second tournament of the season, posting a 2-0-1 record at the Pine Tree Invitational.
The Lady Jackets (3-0-3) were dominant across the three-day tournament in East Texas as Cleburne scored seven goals and allowed just one across three matches.
On Thursday, the Lady Jackets captured a 4-0 win over Pleasant Grove.
Cleburne received goals from Allyson Reed, Emma Rohr, Cadence Tucker, and Isabel Vasquez. Tamara Reyes and Emily Lares registered one assist each. Lexie Key was in goal for the shutout, getting a huge assist from center back Samantha Vesely, who led the defensive charge against Pleasant Grove.
On Friday, Cleburne battled Mount Pleasant to a scoreless draw in a match that ended with 30 minutes left due to the weather.
The Lady Jackets wrapped up play in the Pine Tree Invitational on Saturday with a 3-1 victory over Lindale.
Reed scored her 11th goal of the season while Cleburne also received goals from Rohr and Jesslyn Piña, with an assist from Arlett Garcia.
The Lady Jackets are scheduled to visit Denton Braswell at 7:15 p.m. tonight.
The Cleburne Yellow Jackets were only able to get in one of their scheduled three matches at the Iron Bridge Classic in Denton over the weekend.
The Jackets blasted Dallas Spruce, 9-2, on Thursday for their first win of the season (1-1-0).
Rylan Light and Alexsander Lara each recorded hat tricks as the Jackets built a 9-0 lead by halftime. Marco Vasquez, Anthony Terronez, and Diego Mares each had one goal.
Cleburne’s matches Friday and Saturday were canceled due to inclement weather.
The Jackets are set to return to action at 6 p.m. tonight at Terrell. Cleburne will host the Johnson County Showcase later this week.
