Playoffs on the line in several area volleyball matches tonight

Postseason berths are up for grabs tonight for several Johnson County volleyball teams tonight.

While Burleson, Cleburne and Joshua all clinched playoff berths in District 8-4A play, Centennial (7-6) hosts Crowley (6-7), and with a win, the Lady Spartans clinch a playoff berth. If Crowley wins, the teams will play a tiebreaker match.

Cleburne (10-3) plays at Waco High, Joshua (11-2) hosts Waco University and Burleson (12-1) plays at Everman. If Joshua loses and Cleburne wins, both teams will be tied for second place. If Joshua wins and Burleson loses, the teams will be tied for first place.

In District 7-3A, the Alvarado Lady Indians have a chance to clinch a playoff berth for the first time in a decade when they host Venus tonight. If Alvarado wins, the Lady Indians are playoff bound. If Venus wins, the teams play in a tiebreaker match for the playoffs.

In District 10-2A play, Grandview defeated Godley on Friday to force a tie for the third and final playoff spot.

Grandview (7-4) hosts Rio Vista and Godley (7-4) hosts first-place Maypearl tonight.

If one team wins and the other losses, the winning team advances to the playoffs. If both teams lose or both teams win, they will play a tiebreaker match.
