In an offensive struggle, the Cleburne Lady Jackets dropped a 34-28 decision Tuesday night against Chisholm Trail at Jeff D. Cody Arena.
The Lady Jackets fell to 4-3 on the season after a 4-0 start.

In Tuesday’s loss, Cleburne shot just 11.8 percent from the floor (4-of-34) and committed 17 turnovers. Despite the offensive issues, the Lady Jackets still held leads of 7-3 after the first quarter and 13-10 at halftime.
The two teams combined to open the game 0-of-19 shooting before Chisholm Trail hit a 3 with 15 seconds left in the opening quarter. Cleburne’s first made field goal came with 6:52 left in the second quarter when Haley Jones got a steal and passed ahead to Jordenne Cunningham for a layup.
The Lady Jackets shot 1-of-17 in the first half, but their efficiency at the free-throw line (11-of-12) enabled Cleburne to hold a 13-10 lead at the break. Chisholm Trail made 3-of-20 shots in the first half.
After scoring only 13 points in the first half, the Lady Rangers matched that in the third quarter alone as Chisholm Trail took its first lead at 14-13 with 6:27 left in the third. The Lady Rangers took a 23-22 lead into the final 8 minutes of action.
Chisholm Trail’s Gia Bradley scored seven consecutive points in the fourth quarter to give the Lady Rangers their biggest lead at 30-25 lead with 2:21 remaining.
Cunningham sunk two clutch free throws then Wendel’lyn Moblin hit 1-of-2 foul shots to make it a one-possession game, but Cleburne went scoreless over the final 58 seconds as Chisholm Trail hit 4-of-6 free throws down the stretch for the win.
Jones led Cleburne with 13 points (11-of-12 free throws) and five steals. Moblin added five points and seven rebounds with two steals and two blocked shots. Malea Whitside scored four points and secured 10 rebounds. And Cunningham added four points and four boards.
