Johnson County girls and boys basketball results from Tuesday night:
Granbury 41, Cleburne 39, OT
The Cleburne Lady Jackets dropped a 41-39 overtime decision vs. Granbury to fall to 4-7 for the season.
Cleburne returns to action at 6:30 p.m. Friday when the Lady Jackets host Brewer.
Grandview 44, McGregor 20
The Grandview Lady Zebras jumped out to a big lead early en route to a 44-20 win over McGregor.
The Lady Zebras held leads of 13-4 after the opening quarter and used a 20-point second quarter to build a 33-11 lead at halftime.
Morgan Holliday led Grandview with 14 points while Kylie Mahanay added 12 points.
The Lady Zebras are set to compete in the Glen Rose Tournament today through Saturday.
Saginaw 54, Cleburne 27
Cleburne remained winless at 0-4 after a 54-27 loss at Saginaw.
The Yellow Jackets fell behind 12-0 in the game’s opening moments as Saginaw led from the opening tip.
Blaine McElroy scored 20 points to lead Cleburne.
The Jackets will try for their first win at 8:30 a.m. today in the Granbury Tournament.
Burleson 74, Ennis 62
The Burleson Elks moved to 4-1 on the year with a 74-62 victory over Ennis on Tuesday.
Alvarado 71, Kennedale 66
The Alvarado Indians improved to 3-1 with a 71-66 victory over Kennedale.
The Indians and Wildcats were deadlocked at 16-16 at the end of the first quarter, but Alvarado out-scored Kennedale, 16-9, in the second to take a 32-25 lead at halftime.
The fourth quarter was an offensive eruption as the two teams combined for 54 points, as the Indians held on for the win.
Will Johnson led Alvarado with 18 points, Jordan Caldwell added 14 points, Trent Keener chipped in 10 points, and Ka’Lon Johnson and Jake McCullough each scored nine points.
The Indians have scored at least 65 points in all four of their games this season.
Alvarado will compete in the West Tournament today through Saturday.
Godley 45, Maypearl 44, OT
The Godley Wildcats improved to 3-1 on the season with a 45-44 overtime win over Maypearl.
The Wildcats are set to participate in the West Tournament today through Saturday.
Benbrook 42, Grandview 39
The Zebras, still playing without their full roster, fell to 1-3 on the season with a 42-39 loss to Benbrook on Tuesday.
