The Cleburne Yellow Jackets defeated Wichita Falls Rider 71-59 in the opener of the Mineral Wells Tournament on Monday morning at Mineral Wells High School.
Ethan Anderson led the Jackets (13-2) with 21 points and Mikel Boston added 16. Robert White, D'Montre Davison and Cody Murphy each scored eight points and Semaj Holderness scored five. Tyler Chappell scored three points and Jacob Windell rounded out the scoring for Cleburne with two points.
The Jackets held a six-point lead heading to the fourth quarter, but doubled their advantage by outscoring Rider 21-15 in the final eight minutes of play.
Cleburne plays either Kennedale or Weatherford at 8:30 p.m. tonight in second-round action at Mineral Wells High School.
