The Cleburne Yellow Jackets and Burleson Centennial Spartans battled to a 2-2 tie Tuesday night.

It was Cleburne’s first draw of the season as the Jackets sit at 6-1-1 on the year.

E.J. Jarmon scored both of Cleburne’s goals Tuesday at Centennial, bringing his season total to 10 goals through eight matches. Yahir Piña and Amar Sharma had the assists on Jarmon’s goals.

The Jackets are set to return to action Jan. 21 when they will co-host a tournament. Cleburne is scheduled to play Saginaw at 5 p.m. Jan. 21. Then the Jackets will play Castleberry at 5 p.m. Jan. 22 and Waco Midway at 3 p.m. Jan. 23.

The Cleburne Lady Jackets dropped a 2-1 decision Tuesday night at Midlothian Heritage.

Not only was it Cleburne’s first loss of the season (1-1-2), but the two goals Midlothian Heritage scored were the first two goals allowed by the Lady Jackets.

Coach Aaron Babcock said “it was a good night even with the loss. Learn from the mistakes and grow.”

Cadence Tucker scored Cleburne’s lone goal on an assist from Tessa Scott.

Cleburne’s JV team played Midlothian Heritage to a 0-0 draw with JV goalkeeper Karyme Garcia recording the shutout.

The Lady Jackets are scheduled to return to action at 1:30 p.m. today at Aledo.
