After going 1-3 in the Fredericksburg Tournament last weekend, the Cleburne Yellow Jackets picked up a big 61-50 victory Tuesday morning at Weatherford.

The Jackets led every quarter, holding a 17-11 edge after one, a 33-25 advantage at halftime, and a 47-38 lead going into the fourth.

Cleburne received monster efforts from Blane McElroy and Nash Mosoba, who combined for 41 points and 21 rebounds. McElroy netted 21 points with six rebounds while Mosoba had a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Isaak Cunningham added nine points and four assists while Jake Dobbins pitched in eight points.

Despite a 3-17 record, the Jackets are playing their best ball of the season recently. Before the season started, new Cleburne head coach Jeff Bush said their primary focus entering the season was to be playing their best ball when district play begins. And with District 14-5A play beginning Tuesday at Midlothian, the Jackets are doing just that.

Cleburne visits Springtown at 7:30 p.m. Friday to conclude non-district action.
