The Burleson Elks clinched a playoff spot on Friday with a 69-60 win over the Paschal Panthers and subsequent losses by Abilene and Weatherford.
The Elks withstood a 41-point barrage from Paschal’s Marvin White to earn the win, while Ryan Marsh posted a double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds.
Burleson outscored the Panthers 38-26 in the first half and limited Paschal to 13 points in the final period.
Jon Rutkowski added 17 points and eight rebounds for the Elks, while Rico Leggett put in eight points.
Granbury 56,
Joshua 50
The Joshua Owls remained winless in District 8-4A at 0-13 with a six-point loss to the Granbury Pirates on Friday night.
Granbury led 26-24 at halftime, and held the Owls to eight points in the third quarter to preserve the win.
Jake Martin led Joshua with 19 points and Clint Casillas had nine points.
Crandall 36,
Alvarado 31
The Alvarado Indians fell to 2-7 in District 12-3A on Friday night after a five-point loss to the Crandall Pirates.
After being held scoreless in the first quarter, the Indians outscored the Pirates 10-4 in the second period to cut the halftime deficit to three at 13-10.
Crandall was able to put the win away with a 14-11 fourth quarter run.
Nelson Traylor led Alvarado with 10 points and Jerome Brown had six points.
