The Blum Bobcats beat the Jonesboro Eagles, 52-30, Friday in Hico to advance to the Class 1A Division I state championship.

It was Blum's 12th straight win as the Bobcats (12-2) avenged a 20-6 loss to Jonesboro (12-2) on Sept. 6. Since that loss, Blum has been unstoppable, winning 12 consecutive games in blowout fashion.

After Blum and Jonesboro battled to an 8-8 score after the first quarter, the Bobcats took control with a 20-6 edge in the second quarter for a 28-14 lead at halftime. The two teams each put up 16 points in the third, then Blum put it away with an 8-0 edge in the fourth.

The Bobcats will now play for the Class 1A DI state title at 11 a.m. on Dec. 18 at AT&T Stadium vs. the winner of Saturday's Class A DI state semifinal showdown between McLean & Rankin.

The win over Jonesboro was Blum's first trip to the state semifinals since the Bobcats lost to May in the 2014 state semis.
