A Tuesday morning rollover near Bono resulted in injury to the driver and passenger.
Bono firefighters responded at 10:24 a.m. to U.S. 67 near the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 2331.
Bono Chief Ralph Vaquero said it appears that the couple’s SUV was traveling eastbound when it crossed into the other lane for unknown reasons and continued off the road. The vehicle, Vaquero said, sustained major damage in the rollover.
The man was tending to the female when firefighters arrived. The woman was flown via CareFlite helicopter to a Fort Worth hospital. The man appeared not to have suffered any life-threatening injuries but was also transported to an area hospital to be checked out.
Because of heavy traffic on U.S. 67, the helicopter landed at the nearby Bono Fire Department instead of at the scene, Vaquero said.
Rescue workers and firefighters from several other agencies also responded to the scene.
Vaquero said he did not have the victim’s names or any additional information on their conditions.
No other vehicles were involved and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
