Cleburne police are looking for a man who robbed the Video Place at 405 W. Henderson St. about 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said two employees reported the suspect was white, about 6-feet tall and had large blue eyes. One employee said the man’s eyes “looked like there were going to pop out of the sockets.”

The robbery suspect was wearing light or faded blue jeans, a gray windbreaker with two tan vertical stripes on the front and a ballcap.

The employees said the suspect had been in the store about 30 minutes before he robbed it and wanted to know if the store rented VCRs.

Police said the suspect returned to the store as another customer left, leaving only the two store employees.

He walked up to the counter and said, “This is a robbery, give me the money.”

Police said the victims thought at first it was a joke and then he reportedly said, “I’m serious, don’t make me pull out my weapon,” and reached toward his waistband.

The man did not display a weapon. He took about $264 the employees placed on the counter and left heading east on West Henderson.

A tanning customer soon arrived and the employees told her what happened and she said she saw the man walking east.
