Rescue workers transported two females to Fort Worth hospitals Tuesday morning, one by helicopter, the second by ambulance, Joshua Fire Department Chief Wayne Baker said.
Baker said he did not know the names or conditions of the patients. Two others involved in the four-vehicle accident received minor injuries, Baker said, which did not require hospitalization.
Rescue workers responded at 8:05 a.m. to the 1300 block of West Farm-to-Market Road 917. In addition to Joshua, firefighters from Burleson, Godley and Johnson County Emergency Services District No. 1’s Engine 290 responded, as well as Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
The wreck appears to have been a chain reaction caused by a rear-end collision, Baker said. Two vehicles involved sustained heavy damage he said, and firefighters had to cut a post out of one vehicle to remove the occupant. The accident shut the road down for about an hour.
