The Cleburne Lions Club 26th annual truck raffle and dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the Cleburne Conference Center Exhibit Hall, with casual attire appropriate. This will be the first year the event will be streamed virtually.
“We will let individuals decide if they want to attend the live event in person, or, if they prefer watching it virtually, we will be streaming it on Facebook Live,” Cleburne Lions Club President Kirk Kirkpatrick said.
The decision was made out of respect for everyone’s health and safety concerns because of the pandemic.
To join the raffle on Facebook Live, visit the Cleburne Lions Club Facebook page and click on “follow” so that you will receive notification when the event goes live, at about 7 p.m., following the dinner.
The highlight of the evening will be the last ticket drawn from a maximum of 350 tickets sold.
The holder of the last ticket will win a $20,000 voucher toward the purchase of a vehicle from one of the truck raffle sponsors of their choice, Cleburne Ford, Classic Chevrolet Buick GMC of Cleburne, or SouthWest Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
The winner of the voucher need not be present to win.
The raffle raises funds for various Lions projects and children’s sight-related programs, with all money staying in Johnson County.
Each $100 ticket includes dinner for two at the event with a chance to win various door prizes and gift cards donated by local businesses. Only those attending in person are eligible for a door prize.
Among the door prizes is a package of over $500 worth of gift cards from downtown Cleburne businesses, handcrafted items, gift cards to restaurants and services offered by local merchants.
In addition to the array of door prizes, a live auction will be held. Attendees will have the chance to bid on a Char-Broil Gas Grill with propane tank, donated by Lowe’s Home Improvement; a pair of men’s boots from APOS Boot Outlet; and a Black & Decker powered handsaw, from Blekkenk & Fields.
Tickets are available at Dugger Electric, 505 S. Caddo St., Cleburne, or by calling 817-774-4973.
