Daniel “Leo” Garcia

The Keene Police Department and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office are seeking information on the whereabouts of Daniel Leonardo “Leo” Garcia, 27, in connection with an April 18 sexual assault in Keene.

Garcia on April 21 contacted the Keene Police Department concerning the incident and said he would come in on April 24 to provide a statement but never showed and has not been seen since.

Keene Police Chief Brad Hunt said Garcia is believed to be either in Johnson County or the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Garcia has a tattoo reading “Garcia” on his neck. He has black hair and brown eyes, weighs about 180 pounds and stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall.

Anyone with information on Garcia or who sees him is urged to call 911 or to contact the Keene Police Department or the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Police recently arrested Garcia’s girlfriend, Robbie Lea Grissom, 28, of Cleburne, also on a charge of aggravated sexual assault. Johnson County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Ronny McBroom set Grissom’s bond at $100,000 on June 10.

A Keene officer responded to a welfare check on April 18 in the 3100 block of County Road 805B where he found a vehicle crashed into bushes in a ditch. A woman at the scene confirmed that the vehicle was hers. The officer observed swelling and bruising on the woman’s eyes, cheeks, lips and neck and fresh and dried blood on her lips, according to Grissom’s arrest warrant.

The woman told the officer that Grissom and Garcia had assaulted her at a nearby residence. First responders transported the woman to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne where she was treated and advised that she had been sexually assaulted.

The woman told officers that she knew Grissom from high school and that she and Grissom had been texting and sending nude photographs to each other. The woman said she and Grissom decided to meet at a gas station to purchase alcohol and cigarettes. The woman went on to say that she and Grissom made several attempts to secure a hotel room but were unsuccessful.

Grissom, at that time, suggested that they go back to her residence in the 3000 block of CR 805B, according to the arrest warrant. The woman said she voiced concern at the suggestion because Grissom had told her that her boyfriend, Garcia, had assaulted her recently. Grissom told the woman that there would not be any trouble and they could just go to the bedroom, according to the arrest warrant.

Grissom also told the woman that Garcia might try to have sex with her whereupon the woman told Grissom she was going to the house to have sex with Grissom, not Garcia.

The woman told police that, once they got to Grissom’s house, they drank alcohol then went to the bedroom and engaged in “consensual intimate contact.”

The woman said Garcia came into the room during that encounter at which time the woman told Grissom she did not want Garcia in the room. The woman told police that Garcia watched for a while but then began having sex with Grissom.

The woman said that all three moved around and she somehow ended up on top of Grissom at which time Grissom held her down while Garcia engaged in sex with her, according to Grissom’s arrest warrant.

The woman added that while Grissom continued to grab her body and pull her hair that Garcia proceed to have sex with her. The woman told police that Grissom continued to be “very rough” with her while Garcia sexually assaulted her and that she tried to push both of them off of her but “they would come back harder” and at one point she was choked and could not breath.

The woman said she finally got out of Grissom’s grip at which point Grissom jumped at her and began to punch her in the face while yelling, “Don’t you ever tell my man no. You don’t disrespect my man like that.”

The woman said two unidentified men who had been in the living room came into the bedroom at that point and told Grissom to stop hitting her. The woman said she was able to grab her clothes and car keys at that point and flee the scene. The woman said she accidentally drove off the road following the incident prompting the welfare check call.

Police responded to Grissom’s home where they found an item of the woman’s clothing in Grissom’s bedroom. Grissom told police she punched the woman she had hit Garcia, according to the arrest warrant.
