Thanksgiving is right around the corner.
To help residents in need, the Joshua Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, Brookshire’s and World Gym Burleson are partnering together to donate turkey dinners from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at 3300 S.W. Wilshire Blvd.
JCPAAA President Glen Walden said they will give away over 1,000 pounds of turkeys with all the fixings provided by Brookshire’s to Johnson County residents.
“Anybody can come and pull through to get a turnkey dinner,” Walden said. “No questions asked.”
First United Methodist Church Joshua will also be giving away backpacks of food away as part of its Backpacks4Kids program.
“We just want to help out the needy,” Walden said. “It’s for not only Joshua residents but everyone in the Johnson County community.”
