The Times-Review announces the promotion of two editorial staff members.
Dale Gosser, who has served as managing editor since 2002, is now the North Texas group editor. In this role, he will continue to oversee the Times-Review andthe Weatherford Democrat, where he has also served as editor since March 2018. Additionally, he will oversee the Herald Banner in Greenville, and its three weekly papers, the Commerce Journal, Rockwall County Herald Banner and Royse City Herald Banner.
North Texas Group Publisher Lisa Chappell said Gosser is a seasoned editor with proven outstanding leadership qualities.
“I am confident that in his new expanded role he we will continue to be a positive role model for the staff as well as the community,” Chappell said. “I am pleased that he has accepted this new position and I look forward to seeing the growth and continued improvement of our newspapers under his watch.”
Gosser began his newspaper career in 1993 with the Corsicana Daily Sun, his hometown newspaper, after a short stint in the U.S. Marine Corps. He left the Daily Sun to work for MCC, a high-tech public relations agency in Richardson.
He returned to newspapers after realizing his desire to work with people.
He served as sports editor for one year before taking over as managing editor of the Times-Review.
He is an active member of the Cleburne Rotary Club, where he previously served as president.
Monica Faram, who has served as news editor of the Times-Review since 2012, is now the managing editor.
“Monica has played an integral role in the success of the Times-Review for more than a decade,” Gosser said. “I know in this new role she will continue to make great strides. She has embedded herself in the Cleburne and Johnson County community and cares deeply about its people. Since I hired her as a new college graduate, she has gotten married, had children and been a bright spot in the history of the Times-Review.”
Faram joined the Times-Review in 2007 as the features editor. After five years in that position, she was promoted to news editor.
“Monica has proven herself over the years in her role at the Times-Review,” Chappell said. “With her positive attitude, years of experience and valuable skills, I have no doubt that she will have a positive impact on this newspaper and this community.”
In the community, Faram is involved with the Cleburne Lions Club, which she has been a member of since 2008. She has also served on the Relay For Life of Johnson County board and is a board member of the Joshua Area Chamber of Commerce.
“As she works toward new endeavors as the managing editor, I know Monica will step up and meet any challenge thrown her way,” Gosser said. “Hiring her was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I’m really proud to see how far she has come.”
