The Cleburne Chamber of Commerce is expanding its 23rd annual Business Expo to include a Food Truck Festival this year and will feature new attractions as well as returning favorites.
The Food Truck Festival & Business Expo will be held from 2-7 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Cleburne Conference Center, 1501 W. Henderson St. The event is free to the public, thanks to presenting sponsor SouthWest Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and others.
“The chamber decided to hold the event on a Thursday this year because Saturdays can be so busy with other activities,” Chamber President Tara Janszen said. “We hope that by having it on a weekday afternoon and evening, it will allow attendees to network during business hours, come by with the kids after school, socialize after work, and enjoy a delicious dinner — all while visiting with some of our great local businesses and organizations.”
The Business Expo offers a unique opportunity to meet face-to-face with over 60 local businesses and organizations all in one day and one place. The purpose of the event is to showcase what the Cleburne area has to offer and remind the community to “Shop-Eat-Spend-Enjoy LOCAL!” Exhibitors are encouraged to sell their products out of their booths so this can truly be a one-stop-shop for doing business locally.
Attendees will be able to purchase food from a variety of local food trucks on the parking lot located between the Conference Center and the Chamber of Commerce. Selections include barbecue, Mexican food, hot dogs, shrimp, sandwiches, snow cones, and more.
Other new attractions include RVs and some of the vendors from Cleburne Farmer’s Market.
Back by popular demand is the Keep it Local Jackpot, sponsored by P&P Plumbing. To play, attendees pay $10 to pick a card from the envelope wall full of gift cards to local businesses. Each player is guaranteed to win a card of at least a $10 value, but most cards are valued at double or more. As always, the funds raised help support the ongoing efforts of the chamber to attract and support business in Cleburne and Johnson County.
For the kids, an outdoor Kids Zone, sponsored by Carmen’s Creative Learning Center, will feature an inflatable bounce house and slide in addition to carnival-style games.
With food, music, activities, and great door prizes, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy.
