The severe weather event experienced by our region has caused considerable damage to residential and commercial properties in the city of Joshua. Ruptured water pipes, irrigation lines and damaged hot water heaters, not to mention structural damage, sheetrock and flooring.

As a result, City Manager Mike Peacock has authorized the Department of Development Services to waive all plumbing permitting and inspection fees that are a result of damage from the recent freezing weather.

An Emergency Plumbing Permit Application can be found on the city website, and is available to all registered plumbers with the city. Proof of damage will be required and may be uploaded with the application.

This application will be available for 30 days. Times may be extended on a case-by-case basis. All repairs must be in accordance with International Plumbing Code 2015 and all local ordinances that apply.

The city of Cleburne is also introducing temporary changes to its plumbing permit process to help community members recover from winter storm damage.

Building Inspections is waiving plumbing permit fees for repairs due to storm damage through March 19.

Additional changes include allowing repairs to begin at the submittal of plumbing permits, staff will approve and issue permits on the same day they are received, and staff will make every attempt to complete inspections on the same day as requested; as work volume allows.

Staff continues to look at additional measures to assist with this process. For additional questions contact Cleburne Building Inspections at 817-645-0955.
