Johnson County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested two Alvarado men on charges of promotion of child pornography on Monday and Tuesday respectively. A judge set bond on both at $100,000 each.
The Times-Review is not publishing the men’s names to protect the victim.
A friend of the 14-year-old victim told officials that the victims told her that his uncle used his cellphone to record the victim getting dressed for school.
The suspect’s live-in boyfriend also allegedly touched the victim’s genitals over his clothes, according to an arrest warrant.
The victim said he discovered his uncle’s phone hidden in his room to record him getting dressed and that had found the phone hidden in his room on other occasions.
Detectives obtained a search warrant and seized the suspect’s phone. The phone contained an image of an adult male engaging in a sexual act with an unidentified child, according to the arrest warrant.
The first man allegedly sent the image via text message to the second man, according to the arrest warrant.
JCSO officials said that investigation into the matter remains ongoing.
