A Sunday fatality crash remains under investigation by the Joshua Police Department.
Joshua police and firefighters responded at about 6:30 p.m. to the 800 block of County Road 909 near Ranchette Drive on reports of a single-vehicle traffic accident.
The driver, 15, was traveling at a high rate of speed, according to reports, when he lost control of the car and hit a tree resulting in major damage to the car.
Joshua firefighters extricated the boy from the vehicle and assisted AMR ambulance personnel with patient care. A helicopter flew the boy to John Peter Smith hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:31 p.m., according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s website.
The same site identifies the boy as Angel Jose Tejeda of Joshua.
A second person in the car was transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
