22-year-old Keene resident found dead

A 22-year-old male was found deceased about 11 p.m. last night in the 100 block of South Eastern Street in Keene. The body was identified as Aaron Alexander Preston of Keene. 

Preston, according to his Facebook page, is a former Southwestern Adventist University student. Southwestern officials confirmed he was last enrolled in the spring as a senior biochemistry major. The university is providing counseling for students.

Investigators on the scene believed the death to be of a suspicious nature and called for a crime scene unit. The 

investigation is ongoing at this time. More information to come.

Alvarado’s Dylan Lemons was named to the Texas Sports Writers Association Class 3A All-State Baseball First Team. Fellow senior Jay Holland received honorable mention honors for the all-state team.

  • Swinging for scholarships

    In a county full of Aggie love there is a group of Longhorn lovers giving scholarships to future University of Texas students.

    The Texas Exes Johnson County Chapter is part of the University of Texas Alumni Association. The Johnson County chapter has met officially for the past 10 years. The organization has several missions which include alumni engagement, communicating UT values and advocacy of the university. But, the Johnson County chapter has decided to focus their attention more on community service and, most importantly, supporting education.
