Joshua grocery store to be built in summer
The Joshua Station project, a mixed-use development in the planning for several years, received a boost on Wednesday courtesy Brookshire Grocery Company’s announcement to begin construction of a new 37,400 square foot Brookshire’s Food & Pharmacy store at the site this summer. Weather conditions permitting, Brookshire’s officials expect the store to open in spring 2013.

Burleson’s fourth quarter report depicts cash decreases
Burleson’s quarterly investment report released this week shows that during the fourth quarter of 2011, the city’s total cash and investment decreased by about $4.9 million.

Alvarado routs West, 78-50
With their first district title since 1999 in the bag, the Alvarado Indians moved one game away from a perfect run through District 8-3A play with a 78-50 win over West on Friday night.
The win pushed the Indians’ to 12 straight games. -

The Cleburne Yellow Jackets fell to Everman, 55-35, on Friday night on the road to slip to 13-15 overall and 3-10 in District 7-4A play.

Cleburne sweeps Joshua
It was Senior Night on Tuesday at Yellow Jacket Gym as the Cleburne Lady Jackets closed out the regular season against Joshua with a chance to avenge an earlier District 7-4A loss at Joshua High School.
