Things have changed since former Times-Review Publisher William Rawland pulled up beside the newspaper’s building on Anglin Street, but Corvettes like the one he’s driving still get envious looks. Identifying the year model for Rawland’s car is tough — 1953-55 models shared a common fiberglass body. If it’s a ’55, the car could have come with Corvette’s first V-8 engine. A six-cylinder powerplant was the sole option in earlier years. Regardless of which it is, the car would have been a rarity, even when new. Chevrolet made fewer than 5,000 ’vettes in the ’53 through ’55 model years.
