Pastor Randy Cox officiated the service. Hyman Stanksy played classical piano selections as the 150 guests arrived. The back of the sanctuary was lit in shades of purple, the bride’s favorite color, for the ceremony.
Family members and the wedding party entered to “Canon in D.”
The bride entered the sanctuary to the piano version of “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from Disney’s “Cinderella.”
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a soft satin diamond white mermaid wedding gown with a beaded jewel trim along the sweetheart neckline. The dress featured crossover draping which cascaded over the torso. The corset-tie back of the dress, accented with jeweled beading, met the chapel train. The bridal bouquet featured white calla lilies and roses, held together by a pearl-encrusted wrap and pearl accent pins.
April Bell, the bride’s sister, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elisabeth Cardona, the bride’s friend, and Lindsay Dukewits, friend of the bride and groom. Each bridesmaid wore a black floor-length chiffon and charmeuse dress with a charmeuse tie in the back. Madison West, the bride’s cousin, served as junior bridesmaid. She wore a black floor-length dress of her choice.
The bridesmaids and junior bridesmaid carried bouquets of white roses and miniature plum calla lilies, with stems wrapped in black satin ribbon and pearl accent pins.
Joshua Gafford, the groom’s childhood friend, served as best man. Groomsmen included Nicholas Anello, groom’s childhood friend; Joshua Dukewits, friend of the bride and groom; Kyle Dooley, friend of the groom; and Scott Allen, groom’s childhood friend.
A reception followed at Diamond Oaks Country Club in Fort Worth. The four-tier wedding cake, created by the groom’s godmother, Charla Dukewits, was accented with plum ribbon on each tier and crowned with flowers used in the bridesmaids’ bouquets. Engagement, bridal and wedding photography was provided by Rawlinson Photography.
The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held at Saltgrass Steakhouse in Fort Worth.
The bride is a May 2011 graduate of the University of North Texas. She is the education reporter at the Cleburne Times-Review. Drew is an EMT/firefighter for the city of Hillsboro.
