Centennial places two on second team; Alvarado lands three players

The First Financial Bank All Johnson County volleyball team has been chosen and the second team included plenty of area talent.

The team was chosen by the Times-Review sports department based on all-district selections and coaches’ nominations.

Alvarado’s Kristen Mann, Brianna Penner and Jordan Long were selected after Lady Indians narrowly missed out on the playoffs in District 8-3A.

Joshua’s Madison Moad was selected from the Lady Owls after receiving second-team honors in the District 7-4A selections.

Cleburne sophomore Brianna Reband was a newcomer of the year recipient on last year’s AJC team, and received a second-team accolade on this year’s squad. She received the same honor on the 7-4A team. Burleson’s Riley Roberts and Mackenzie Hailey were awarded spots on the second team after receiving second-team all-district honors for the Lady Elks.

Centennial, in its first year of varsity competition, put two players on the AJC team in Toni Maxfield and Raygen Lee. Those two received second-team honors on the District 7-3A team. The Lady Spartans qualified for the playoffs after finishing in second place.

Grandview’s Kalani Basham, Godley’s Bailey Watson and Keene’s Jenna Bulles all received second-team honors after being awarded second-team accolades on their respective all-district teams.
