Scary readings at Layland Museum
Layland Museum Educator Bettye Cook reads an excerpt from George Orwell's "1984." Cooke is one of several scheduled to read excerpts from classic scary stories from 7-8 p.m. Thursday night at the Lowell Smith Sr. History Center in Cleburne. The Halloween-themed event is free.

Fallen soldier flown to Cleburne (VIDEO)
Johnson County residents came to Cleburne Regional Airport on Saturday to show their support as fallen solider Riley Stephens was flown in. Patriot Guard Riders and local fire and law enforcement escorted Stephens' hearse to his hometown Tolar.

CASA Superhero Run

Cleburne firefighters douse abandoned car fire
Cleburne firefighters and police responded to a report of a trash fire about 7:15 a.m. Thursday near the 200 block of South Kouns Street to discover a car believed to have been stolen. The Kia sat several hundred yards off the road fully engulfed in flames in a heavily wooded area. Click play below to watch a video.
