BURLESON —
The Centennial Spartans fought hard against Mansfield on Tuesday night, but fell in the final seconds, 2-1.
The Spartans took a 1-0 lead on a Drew Davis goal that was assisted by Chris Johnson at the 31:14 mark of the second half.
But Mansfield tied the match up with 14:37 remaining.
Then, with 52 seconds left in the game, the Tigers scored their go-ahead goal to take the win.
“We outplayed them for 65 minutes but it’s an 80-minute game,” Centennial Coach Chance Rose said. “This was good for preseason though.”
Centennial plays at 7 p.m. Friday in North Crowley.
