Several area players were honored on the Liberty Hotel All-Johnson County boys soccer team.
The team was chosen by the Times-Review’s sports department based on all-district selections and coaches nominations.
Leading off the team was Diego Garcia from Alvarado and fellow Indians Adam Torres and Justin Coultrip joined him on the team.
The Joshua Owls placed two on the team in Dennis Sullivan and Adbel Cabrera.
The Owls finished third in District 15-4A behind first place Granbury and second place Crowley and were defeated, 3-1, by Mansfield Legacy in the opening round.
The Broncos advanced to the state semifinals and concluded their season with a third-place finish after falling to Mesquite Poteet.
Cleburne grabbed the fourth playoff spot in the district and placed Juan Valle, Michael Turner, Emmanuel Martinez and Martin Soto on the team.
The Yellow Jackets suffered a first-round playoff loss to Midlothian.
Burleson finished second in district and bowed out in the first round of the playoffs to former district rival Mansfield, 5-1.
The Elks landed Garrett Foust and Nick Oliver on the team.

The Centennial Spartans won their second straight game on Friday with a 2-0 victory over Kennedale in the District 16-4A opener for both teams.
Centennial is 3-2-6 overall. -

Alvarado senior Dillon Bell made it official on Friday afternoon at Alvarado High School that he will be a pole vaulter for the United States Air Force Academy next year. Hopefully, he said, after he wins the state title in the pole vault this year.
