The Cleburne varsity tennis teams fell 16-3 at Hewitt Midway on Tuesday.
In boys’ singles, Austin ash fell 6-2, 6-0 to Frankie Allinson; Will Holleman was defeated 6-1, 6-0 by Kolby Kilgo; Luke Bennett fell 6-3, 6-1 to Hunter Harrell; Daniel Michie won 6-3, 6-3 over Evan Clark; Mark Eldridge fell 7-5, 6-2 to Mitchell Myers; Chase Burt lost 8-3 to Adam Gilliland, and Jimmy Walters defeated Chad Davis, 9-8.
In girls’ singles, Katie Metcalf fell 6-1, 6-4 to Kenna Kilgo; Kaley Ownbey lost 6-2, 6-0 to Carina Mooslechner; Autumn Mathis fell 6-0, 6-2 to Mary Beth Green; Abby Ash was defeated 6-1, 6-3 by Kally Amos; Shelby Joslin fell in three sets 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 to Danielle Zimmerman, and Haley Melson was defeated 8-4 by Brittany Becker.
In boys’ doubles, Ash and Holleman fell 6-0, 6-0 to Kilgo and Allinson; Bennett and Eldridge defeated Harrel and Gilliland 6-3, 4-6, 7-5; and Michie and Walters fell 6-3, 6-2 to Clark and Myers.
In girls’ doubles, Metcalf and Mathis fell 6-0, 6-1 to Kilgo and Amos; Ash and Melson lost 6-0, 6-1 to Mooslechner and Carlisle and Joslin and Shaffer fell 6-0, 6-3 to Green and Zimmerman.
In mixed doubles, Burt and Ownbey defeated Salivas and Becker 2-6, 6-2, 6-4.
