The Cleburne Yellow Jackets have a chance to solidify its playoff spot, while the Cleburne Lady Jackets are looking to sweep a season series.
The Yellow Jackets (10-5-4, 6-2-3) will travel to Dr. J.E. Marr Stadium for a matchup at 7:15 p.m. against the Everman Bulldogs, while the Lady Jackets (4-13-3, 3-7-1) will be hosting the Everman Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Jackets and Lady Bulldogs will meet for a second time on the field of play at 7 p.m., with Cleburne hoping to sweep the season series after handling Everman with ease last time around.
The Yellow Jackets are coming off a 4-0 victory over Kennedale on Tuesday, a match that saw Joseph Vasquez put together one of the best halves of his career.
Vasquez scored all four of Cleburne’s goals in the second half, leading the Yellow Jackets to the victory.
The Jackets also got solid offensive play in the victory from Filiberto Maya, Emmanuel Martinez and Frankie Garcia, while Bobby Bruce, Brandon Morris, Thomas Richards and Rahul Chhana got the job done on the defensive side of things.
The Bulldogs (4-15-0, 3-8-0) posted a 6-2 win over the Alvarado Indians in their last outing, getting three goals from Eduardo Estrada and two more from Carlos Azua.
Everman jumped out to a 5-1 lead at the end of the first 40 minutes and never looked back in getting the victory.
Kevin Avilez added a goal for the Bulldogs.
As for the Lady Jackets, they are coming off a 3-3 tie with Kennedale, a game in which Cleburne led, 3-1, with less than 10 minutes remaining in the contest.
The Lady Jackets are not only looking for a solid performance from its offense, but also needed some stellar play from the defense.
Brenna Martindale and Kimberly Sisk have been platooning at the goalkeeper position, with the likes of Tiffany Sepulveda, Collin Valis and Deanna Moser providing solid play defensively.
Offensively, Katie Allen is coming off a two-goal performance. She also had an assist in the contest and has the opportunity to tie the single-season goal-scoring record for Cleburne if she nets three goals against Everman.
Allen has 15 goals on the season, which is three short of tying Nikki Osier’s record. In Cleburne’s win earlier over Alvarado, Allen recorded three goals.
Judy Bonilla, Jacquelyn Matthews, Marie Gilada and Brittany Kirksey will all see time on the field as attackers, while players such as Kallie Maples, Erin Murphy and Kinsey Lyles also contributing.
