Joshua basketball went 1-1 against Waco University on Tuesday night with the Lady Owls recording a 58-52 win.
Madison Lasater led the Lady Owls with 15 points while Hailey Calfee added 11 points.
The Lady Owls held a 28-17 lead at halftime, and, despite being outscored in the second half, Joshua held on to win their third District 8-4A game of the season.
The Joshua Owl boys basketball team fell at Waco University, 76-29, on Tuesday night.
University led 40-20 at halftime and outscored the Owls 19-2 in the third quarter.
James Woodley led Joshua with 10 points and Junior Loya added six.
Joshua falls to 1-21 overall and 1-7 in District 8-4A play.
The Elks came ever so close to capturing their first District 8-4A win of the season against Everman, but the Bulldogs held on for a 56-53 win Tuesday night.
Burleson outscored the Bulldogs 13-7 in the final quarter but came up just short in its comeback attempt.
Adrian Rodriguez led the Elks with 13 points and Chance Pennington added 12 points. Zach Bonham and Cody Rekieta each scored nine for Burleson.
The Crowley Eagles jumped out to a 19-2 first-quarter lead over Centennial and never looked back on Tuesday night in a 59-37 win.
The Spartans were never able to come back from a tough first quarter and were outscored in the first three quarters of the game.
Curtis Amos led Centennial with 11 points. Dion Malone led Crowley with 21 points.
The Eagles improved to 6-2 in District 8-4A play while Centennial fell to 3-5.
The Grandview Zebras improved to 6-1 in District 10-2A play after a 53-29 win over Maypearl on Tuesday night.
Grandview sits one game behind Whitney in district standings and two games ahead of Godley and Tolar.
The Lady Zebras fell to Maypearl, 40-23, on Tuesday night to fall to 5-4 in district play.
Grandview sits at fourth place in district standings, behind Godley, Maypearl and Whitney.
The Lady Zebras host Rio Vista on Friday.
