CLEBURNE — The Cleburne Lady Jackets fell to Burleson, 8-1, on Tuesday.

It was Cleburne’s second consecutive loss, and the Lady Jackets fell to 6-6 in District 8-4A play.

Cleburne faces first-place Burleson Centennial on Friday and the Lady Jackets then close out district play Tuesday at Crowley with a possible playoff berth on the line.

The Centennial Lady Spartans improved to 12-0 after a 3-2 win over Joshua on Tuesday. Centennial scored all three of its runs in the second inning, and Joshua added a pair in the fourth to cap the scoring.

Emilie Blair had two of Joshua’s three hits, while five different Lady Elks recorded base hits for Burleson.

The Alvarado Indians improved to 5-3 and pulled into a second-place tie with Venus after beating the Bulldogs, 9-6, on Tuesday.

Alvarado’s Dylan Lemons improved to 5-0 on the mound and he also hit a two-run homer to help lift the Indians, who recorded 13 base hits to Venus’s four.

The Grandview Zebras remained perfect in District 10-2A action with a 14-8 win over Tolar on Tuesday night.
