The Joshua Lady Owls and Burleson Lady Elks played to a 1-1 tie in a non-district match on Friday night.
“It was a pretty wild game,” Joshua Coach Jeff Brooks said. “We got a red card with about 32 minutes left in the game, so we played the last half hour and actually tied it when we were a man down and hung on. I’m really proud of the girls. They played with a lot of heart. Both teams did and it was a great game.”
Payton Boyd scored the Joshua goal, which was assisted by Lori Gaskill.
The Lady Elks won in a shootout, but in non-district and non-tournament play the result is recorded as a tie.
The tie moves Joshua’s record to 6-1-2.
