Godley defeats Dublin, 62-0; Grandview, Centennial roll to impressive wins

The Wildcats celebrated homecoming Friday night with a 62-0 victory over the Dublin Lions. The Lions looked impressive on their opening drive holding the ball for more than four minutes before stalling at the Godley 46. Godley promptly marched 60 yards in six plays and scored on a Riley Davis six-yard scamper. The game was never in doubt after that point as Davis scored again to close out the first quarter, and the Wildcats proceeded to score 35 points in the second period to lead, 49-0, at halftime. The offense was led by Davis who scored three times, twice on the ground and once in the air on his way to chalking up 150 yards of total offense. The Wildcats’ defense swarmed the Lions and forced two turnovers and scored on a Dakota Duty 28-yard interception return.

Grandview 54, Dallas Life 8

The Grandview Zebras moved to 4-1 and opened District 6-2A play with a 46-point victory over former District 15-2A rival Dallas Life on Friday at Lion Stadium.

Grandview rolled to a 35-2 halftime lead, and extended the advantage to 47-2 to open the fourth period.

Further stats and information on the game were not available at presstime.

Centennial 27, Pampa 9

DeMarcus Williams rushed for 271 yards on 38 carries and scored three times to lead the Spartans back from an early deficit to an 18-point victory over the visiting Pampa Harvesters.

Pampa took a 6-0 lead after Sammy Adams’ 22-yard touchdown run, but Williams took over after that.

His 1-yard scoring scamper put Centennial up, 7-6, but Pampa’s Colten Adams booted a 51-yard field goal to give the Harvesters a 9-7 lead.

Pampa didn’t score after the long kick.

Williams added touchdown runs of 44 and 53 yards and Grayham Stowe caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Brady Allen as Centennial pulled away.

The Spartans totaled 338 yards of offense to Pampa’s 138. Allen finished 6-of-10 through the air for 57 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions.
