Both Cleburne soccer teams started the District 16-4A season off on an emphatic note on Tuesday against Venus.
The Yellow Jackets moved to 9-7-3 and 1-0 in 16-4A play with an 8-2 win over Venus.
Nelson Frias scored Cleburne’s first goal off an assist from Edgar Charro. He finished the game with a hat trick.
Charro assisted three more goals in the victory. Bryson Bailey, Jose Salazar, Jesus Gil and Raygene Underwood all chipped in scores.
The Lady Jackets moved to 1-0 in district play after an 8-0 victory over the Lady Bulldogs at Yellow Jacket Stadium on Tuesday.
Lynzie Moore, Taylor Bicknell, Brandi Villasana, Shelby Powell, Charity Gonzalez, Alexis Morton, Brianna Reband and Becca Long all scored goals for Cleburne in the win.
Both Cleburne teams are back in action on Friday against Joshua.
The Jackets take on the Owls at 7:15 p.m. Friday at Owl Stadium.
The Lady Jackets and Lady Owls meet at 7 p.m. Friday at Yellow Jacket Stadium.
