Cleburne JV battles Alvarado JV on courts

The Cleburne junior varsity tennis teams took on the Alvarado Indians on Thursday at Alvarado High School.

In boys’ singles, Joey Walters defeated Austin Jones 8-2; Garrison Roe won 6-0 over Mario Peralez; Ryan Neal claimed an 8-1 victory over Devin Curry; Oren Briggs fell 8-4 to Greg Hooper; Stephen Vickers lost 8-4 to William Harnes; Donavin Marchman won 8-3 over Trevor Stanton; Kason Starks defeated Shaun Sims 8-1, and Ethan Fletcher defeated Sheldon Smith 8-0.

In girls’ singles, Brooke Mathis won 8-0 over Ashlee Estes; Bianca Rodriguez defeated Priscilla Rodriguez 8-3; Taylor Hart fell 8-1 to Chloe Flores; Kelsey Stewart won 8-2 over Myka Williams; Samantha Vasquez fell 8-2 to Taylor Sawyer; Elysse Hundley won 8-2 over Brittany Hendsam; Isabella Lopez won 8-0 over Cassidy Spoon, and Katie Scott fell 6-1 to Mikka Williams.

In boys’ doubles, Walters and Roe defeated Jones and Peralez 8-0; Neal and Briggs fell 8-4 to Curry and Hooper; Vickers and Marchman fell 8-6 to Barnes and Stanton, and Starks and Fletcher won 8-1 over Jing and Smith.

In girls’ doubles, Mathis and Rodriguez won 8-2 over Estes and Flores; Hart and Stewart won 8-4 over Rodriguez and Colvin.

Vasquez and Hundley defeated Williams and Sawyer 8-2, and Lopez and Scott defeated Henderson and Spoon 8-2.
