Parks leads Burleson to 12th win

The Burleson Lady Elks improved to 12-3 overall with a 25-15, 24-26, 25-10, 25-20 victory over Arlington Sam Houston on Tuesday in non-district play.
Senior Jordan Parks returned to action for the Lady Elks and responded with 11 kills, five aces and five digs after missing a week of play after fainting prior to a match last Tuesday.
Sophomore Erin Harman led Burleson with 17 kills.
The Lady Elks open District 4-5A play on the road Friday against preseason favorite Mansfield, which owns a record of 17-6 heading into league action.

The Godley Lady Cats had little trouble disposing of Hamilton on Tuesday, sweeping past the Lady Bulldogs, 25-12, 25-13, 25-8.
The Lady Cats return to action on Friday as they play host to Poolville.

Rio Vista....3
Whitney....2

The Rio Vista Lady Eagles rebounded from a one-game deficit to prevail in five sets over the Whitney Lady Wildcats on Tuesday in a non-district outing, 20-25, 25-18, 25-22, 16-25, 15-12.
Rio Vista is idle Friday and will not play again until next week.

Blum.....3
Coolidge...0

The Blum Lady Cats had relatively little trouble with the Coolidge Lady Jackets on Tuesday, posting a 25-18, 25-14, 25-20 victory.
Blum (7-2) got 15 kills, eight assists and a block from Kourtney Kimbrell, while Kaelyn McPherson dished out 18 assists. McPherson also had five kills and a pair of aces.
The Lady Cats, who also got five aces from Lindsey Davis, will play in the Venus Tournament this weekend.
