Cleburne blasts Stephenville, 19-4

GLEN ROSE — The Cleburne Yellow Jackets scored eight runs in the second inning on the way to a 19-4 come-from-behind victory in Pony League action on Monday night.
The Jackets scored a run in the top of the first when Jordan Ebbens singled and later scored on a passed ball.
Stephenville scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame on a Cleburne error.
In the top of the second the Jackets went to work.
Colin Garcia singled to lead off the frame, but was retired when Tyler Rogers hit into a fielder’s choice.
Foster Kelm drew a walk and Ebbens followed with an RBI single to knot the score.
Nolan Reynolds gave Cleburne a lead it wouldn’t relinquish with a two-run single and Chris Saucedo drove in a pair with another single to make it 6-2.
Michael Lovell followed with a two-run triple to stretch the lead to 8-2.
Garcia picked up an RBI on a ground out to make it 9-2 after the top of the inning.
The Jackets extended their lead in the third, as Tristan Holliday picked up an RBI with a single to make it 10-2. Max Chavez drove in two runs with a double and Lovell added an RBI on a double to make it 13-2.
Saucedo and Lovell scored when the ball got away from the Stephenville catcher for a 15-2 lead.
Cleburne put the game out of reach in the top of the fourth with four more runs.
Holliday led off with a single and Reynolds walked.
Holliday scored on a wild pitch for a 16-2 lead.
Stephenville had Reynolds picked off of third base, but he managed to get out of the run down and scored for a 15-run lead.
The Jackets then pulled off a double steal that allowed Saucedo to score from third as Garcia scampered to second.
Brandon Rios drove in Saucedo with a single to round out the scoring for Cleburne.
Stephenville scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth to pull to within 19-4.
Three straight walks loaded the bases, but Saucedo induced a flyout to right field and the Jackets ended the frame by tagging out the Stephenville runner at home.
Holliday and Reynolds singled in the top of the fifth, but the Jackets were unable to score.
Garcia retired the final three batters to end the game.
