Johnson County’s baseball and softball teams have begun setting up their playoff series for later in the week.
In softball action, Burleson (25-9) faces Odessa (27-2) in the Class 5A, Region I quarterfinals beginning at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Game 2 is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, with a potential Game 3, if necessary, to follow Game 2.
All games will be played at Abilene Christian University.
Joshua (27-7) faces Denton Guyer (23-11) in the Class 4A, Region I quarterfinals. Game 1 is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Keller High School, with Game 2 slated for 7:30 p.m. Friday at the same location.
Game 3, if necessary, will be played at noon Saturday at
Saginaw High School.
Area baseball teams are a week behind their softball counterparts in the playoff brackets.
District 8-4A champion Joshua (24-6) will face Western Hills (19-14) after earning a first-round bye. Game 1 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Joshua High School, with Game 2 slated for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Western Hills High School.
A potential Game 3 will be played at 4 p.m. Saturday at a site to be determined.
Cleburne (27-8) meets Denton Ryan (24-4) in an area-round series this week.
Game 1 is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at Denton Ryan High School, with Game 2 set for 7 p.m. Friday at Yellow Jacket Field. Game 3, if necessary, will be played at 1 p.m. Saturday at Saginaw High School.
In Class 2A, Grandview (21-4) faces Peaster (20-9).
Game 1 is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at Boswell, with Game 2 set for 1 p.m. Saturday.
A possible Game 3 will be played after Game 2 at Boswell.
