Welcome to Springfest ’08

April 24, 2008 12:47 pm

Dear friends,
Downtown Cleburne Association welcomes you to Springfest 2008 this weekend. We hope you and your family, friends and acquaintances will join us in celebrating spring and our good community in historic downtown Cleburne.
Young and old will find something fun to do.
We have amusement rides such as airplanes and a train for little ones, bungee jumping, rock climbing, an obstacle course for adventurous people and an 1880 Butterfield Stagecoach ride for everyone.
From turkey legs to chicken to barbecue to funnel cakes, everyone can find delicious eats. And for shoppers, vendors in Market Square offer caps, T-shirts, home décor, jewelry of every type, pet items, plants and a plethora of delights.
Children can do sand art or have their faces painted or make a toy car at the Layland Museum program.
Don’t forget live entertainment on the Wright Plaza stage with exciting music and dance from 6-9:30 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Drawings for Albertson’s gift cards and a raffle for a grill from Lowe’s will be held during stage events.
The Ducky Derby and new Duck Waddle for children along Buffalo Creek all add to the fun. The museum will present The Car Guys, a free program.
The Plaza Theatre, one of our projects, will be open. Because of the traffic and issue of safety, Springfest has been relocated to South Main and Market Square.
The city is graciously allowing the closing of two blocks of Mill and Harrell streets.
We hope everyone will come for a good time in Cleburne. Your participation makes the party and lets us sponsor the Christmas Parade of Lights, the Plaza Theatre and a new project — two art alleys.
See you at Springfest!
