Crowds can enjoy three more nights of entertainment during the 55th annual Johnson County Sheriff’s Posse PRCA rodeo.
Thursday night is military appreciation night, and all current and retired military will be granted free admittance with a military ID.
Friday night is “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” night, sponsored by Dodge and the PRCA.
“That’s a deal Dodge and PRCA has put out,” David Johnson, rodeo co-chairman, said. “Most of the cowboys will come out in their pink shirts that night.
“This year we’re looking into possibly donating money back to John Wayne Cancer Society.”
The grand finale is Saturday night. Rodeo winners and the rodeo queen will be crowned that night.
Mutton bustin’ finalists will compete on Friday and Saturday nights. Winners will be announced Saturday night.
Guests may also witness one of three new events that are new this year: matched bareback riding, matched saddle bronc riding and matched bull riding.
“The committee picked three cowboys that we wanted to match from ones that were entered,” Johnson said. “The cowboys will complete their rodeo event and then do a matched event.”
The producer will pick one of his best broncs or bulls for the cowboy to ride. Whichever one wins will receive $1,000 to be donated to a charity of their choice.
A rodeo dance will be held after the Thursday and Friday night performances at Caddo Street Grill. Following Saturday’s rodeo performance, a Grand Finale rodeo dance will also be held at the Caddo Street Grill.
General admission tickets for the rodeo can be purchased at the gate for $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-12. Children 3 and under are free. Parking is free.
Rodeo performances begin at 8 p.m. nightly.
