The 2011 Lone Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep Autoplex All-Johnson-County football team has been announced. The team was chosen by the Times-Review sports department based on all-district selections and coaches’ nominations.
The first-team offense included Alvarado quarterback Kenny West and Burleson quarterback Barrett Cain. In his junior season for the Indians, West threw for 1,374 yards and 19 touchdowns to just six interceptions.
Cain rushed for 24 touchdowns and 1,220 yards while throwing for 1,296 yards.
The four wide receivers on the first team included Cleburne’s Cooper Walls, a unanimous first-team selection on the District 7-4A team, Joshua’s Michael Keeton, Alvarado’s Austin Ellinger and Godley’s Koby Foster.
The first-team running backs were Alvarado junior Lee Hardy and Godley’s Riley Davis. Hardy piled up more than 700 yards and Davis had more than 1,200 yards during his senior season with Godley.
Burleson fullback Addison Parrish was a first-team selection on the All-Johnson County team and received the same accolade on the 7-4A team. The first-team tight ends were Alvarado’s Michael Vanderhoff and Burleson’s Tanner Hathcock. Vanderhoff caught two touchdown passes in the Indians’ 42-7 playoff victory over Seminole.
The first-team offensive linemen were Burleson’s Derek Baldeschwiler, Alvarado’s Rowdy Goff and Juan Munoz, Grandview’s Kirk Waldrip and Chance Howard and Burleson’s Luke Jakobsson. All of the first-team linemen received the same accolades on their respective all-district teams.
The first-team kicker was Alvarado’s Andrew Torres.
The first-team defensive unit included Cleburne’s Zach Haler and Conner Martyniuk along with Alvarado’s Xavier Holbert, Marcus McNeil, Ronald Thomas, C.J. Johnson, Marcus Villarreal, Alex Gentrey, Kenny Adams and A.J. Castillo. Rounding out the team were Godley’s Drew Benge, Joshua punter Jordan Garrett and Grandview’s Caleb Hollingsworth and Austin Wylie.
