The 2011 Lone Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep Autoplex All-Johnson-County football team has been announced. The team was chosen by the Times-Review sports department based on all-district selections and coaches’ nominations.
The second-team offense was led by Cleburne’s Quade Coward and Godley’s Rhett Brawner as the second-team quarterbacks.
Coward threw for more than 1,600 yards in his junior season as the starter for Cleburne and led the Yellow Jackets to the cusp of the postseason. Brawner had a solid season after throwing for 1,444 yards and 20 touchdowns to just six interceptions.
Coward was a second-team selection on the District 7-4A team and Brawner was a first-team selection on the 4-2A team.
The second-team wide receivers were Burleson’s Aaron McCarley, Grandview’s Terrell Williams and Garrett Morris, Alvarado’s Daniel Pinkerton and Burleson Centennial’s Doug Hopkins. Hopkins caught 35 passes for 447 yards and six touchdowns.
The second-team running backs included Cleburne’s Andy Anderson, Centennial’s DeMarcus Williams and Grandview’s Ben Pannell. Williams rushed for 1,544 yards on 191 carries and 17 touchdowns in his first year as Centennial’s starting running back.
The second-team tight ends were Alvarado’s Jake Geeo and Cleburne’s German Hernandez. The second-team offensive linemen were Godley’s Eian Kinder, Cleburne’s Chance Harris, Burleson’s Ethan Jones and Alvarado’s Andrew Sevener and Ruben Camperos. The second-team kicker was Godley’s Troy Hunt.
The second-team defense featured Grandview’s Prescott Hollway and Peyton Mahan, Godley’s Vradley Cerna, Riley H. Davis and Sam Cummins, Alvarado’s Andrew Leger, Rio Vista’s Jacob Stanley and Kyle Leonhardt, Joshua’s Devon Scoggins, Burleson’s Kerry Fellers, Heith Harper and Brandon Swartz. Rounding out the second-team defensive unit was Burleson Centennial’s Shawn Brown.
