Calvary pastor announces new sermon series
The Rev. Charles Payne, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne, will begin a new sermon series titled “Jesus is Wonderful!” on Sunday.
The series will continue each Sunday, culminating with the message, “Christmas, the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” on Dec. 20.
The church will have a Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Payne will preach, and music will be provided by the Calvary Quartet, the Ambassador’s Trio and the Music Makers.
The service will be followed by a pie fellowship in the Family Life Center.
Sunday services at the church are held at 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday school is at 10 a.m.

Faith Temple to have Thanksgiving service, revival
Faith Temple Church in Cleburne will celebrate Thanksgiving Sunday with a themed sermon and a Thanksgiving meal.
Pastor Weldon Coble will preach on “Could this be our last Thanksgiving?” at the 10:50 a.m. service. The Coble family will sing during the service, and the meal will take place after the service.
The church will also conduct revival services at 7:30 p.m. Monday and 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. The Rev. Anthony Cheek will preach.

Annual St. Nicholas Fest set
The Church of the Holy Comforter will host its annual St. Nicholas Fest from 5-8 p.m. Dec. 4 and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 5 in the church’s Parish Hall at 209 E. Wardville.
Festivities kick off Friday with a parade of lights, colors and floats, and food. Santa visits on Saturday afternoon to hear gift wishes from children. Pictures with Santa are free and printed on site, courtesy of the parish.
The festival will have live entertainment and authentic German food, as well as fajitas, nachos, hot dogs and drinks. A bake sale and frozen casserole sale are also held.

Burleson ministerial alliance to hold Thanksgiving service
The Burleson Christian Ministerial Alliance will hold a Thanksgiving worship service at 6 p.m. Sunday at Cana Baptist Church.

Steve Green Christmas Tour comes to Burleson
Christian artist Steve Green brings his 2009 Christmas Tour to Burleson at 6 p.m. Nov. 29 in the Burleson High School auditorium.
Three choirs from Metroplex churches of the Nazarene will perform with Green at the concert.

New Birth church to honor pastor
New Birth Missionary Baptist Church members will celebrate their pastor and family in an appreciation service beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday and closing out Sunday during morning worship service.
They will honor the Rev. and Mrs. Donald J. Earl and family for their untiring service to New Birth Baptist Church and the community.
Earl has been in the ministry for 19 years and has pastored for 17 years. The public is invited to attend.

At 10 a.m. Wednesday, three young men walked out of TEAM School to start a prayer circle as part of national See You at the Pole event, which took place at several schools in Cleburne ISD.
They were admittedly nervous, but nearly 40 people arrived to back them up. -
