Calvary Baptist to have special events

Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne has a weekend full of activities planned.

A fall festival will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. tonight in the church’s Family Life Center. Game booths, a cake walk, candy and refreshments are among the festival’s activities and offerings. The festival is offered as a Christian alternative to Halloween.

There is no charge for the event.

On Sunday, the church will have Friend Day, and members and friends are invited to come and bring a friend. Worship services are at 8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday school is at 10 a.m.

Pastor Charles Payne will speak on “Abraham, a Friend of God.” The Calvary Quartet will perform.

Sunday evening worship will begin at its new time, 6 p.m.

The church reminds that Sunday is the end of daylight saving time, and people should turn their clocks back an hour when retiring for the evening on Saturday.

The church is located at 700 Woodward Ave. For information or to arrange free transportation to any service, call 817-645-7758.
