Watts Chapel to hold harvest festival
Watts Chapel United Methodist Church will have its 14th annual Lord’s Acre harvest festival beginning at 10 a.m. Oct. 17
A Sweet Shoppe with homemade baked goods will be available, as well as a trash and treasures section.
A barbecue lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a variety of meats, potato salad, cole slaw, bean and desserts. Donations for the meal are accepted.
A live auction will begin at 1 p.m. and will include handmade quilts crafted by the church’s quilters. group.

George’s Creek church to have homecoming
George’s Creek Baptist Church in Somervell County will have its 39th annual homecoming beginning at 10 a.m. Oct. 11.
The church began in 1885, and this year is the 104th anniversary of a church reorganization in 1905.
Activities for the day include Sunday school at 10 a.m., worship services at 10:50 a.m., a covered dish lunch after the service and a gospel singing from 2:30-4 p.m.
Pastor Robert Whitehead, a retired Baptist minister, will speak during the worship service. He is the brother of the church’s pastor, Earl Whitehead.
Special music for the worship service and afternoon singing will be provided by the Master’s Quarter of Midlothian.
The church is located on Somervell County Road 308 about 1.3 miles north of U.S. 67, east of Glen Rose and west of Cleburne.
