Shipman celebrates 21 years of ministry at Bible Baptist.
Bible Baptist Church will honor its pastor, Dr. Don Shipman, for 21 years of faithful ministry at the 11 a.m. service Sunday.
Shipman came to Cleburne as pastor in 1987 after traveling with his family in evangelism for six years. He has been in the ministry for more than 50 years. He served four other congregations as a minister of music and youth, an associate pastor and senior pastor, before traveling in evangelism.
Pastor Shipman is reverently active in preaching and teaching the word of God and seeing people saved. He and his wife, Elvena, who is the church organist, have served the church for 21 years.
The congregation of Bible Baptist invites all members, former members and friends to join them. A dinner on the grounds will follow the morning service in the fellowship hall. The church is located at 1513 Westhill Drive in Cleburne.

Christian Business Club to meet
The impact “a smile in the grocery store” had on her life as a Christian will be shared by Jo Bayne, guest lay speaker at Monday’s monthly meeting of the Cleburne Christian Business Club.
The meeting, which will be held in the student center of the Cleburne campus of Hill College, will open with fellowship at 6:30 a.m., followed by the program at 6:50 a.m.
Daniel Whitehead, who serves as Worship Leader at Eastern Heights Church, will providing the special music.
Bayne, who has been a member of the Johnson County real estate community for 28 years, has been an agent with Coldwell-Banker-Bob King Realty since 1993. She and her husband, James, are longtime members of Eastern Heights Church, where Jo works with the children’s ministry, often playing a character known as “Miss Millie.”
The Baynes have five children and 11 grandchildren.

Coble elected presbyter
The Rev. Weldon Coble Sr., pastor of Faith Temple Church in Cleburne was recently elected as presbyter for the south Dallas section of the Pentecostal Church of God.
Coble has been pastor of Faith Temple Church for 13 years. He has been withthe PCOG for 15 years.
Coble will remain as pastor of Faith Temple. He will oversee nine churches in the south Dallas section.
