Calvary to hold patriotic services

Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne will have a God and country celebration in its 8:45 and 11 a.m. Sunday services.

The Calvary Singers, Calvary Quartet and Music Makers will perform patriotic music, and Pastor Charles Payne will preach a sermon titled “Remember Our Foundation.”

Members of the armed forces will be special guests and prayer will be offered for active duty personnel and veterans.

David Smith, a missionary to England, will speak at the 7 p.m. service.

Smith is curator of a Bible collection in London and will preach from the Bible of Emma Darwin, wife of naturalist Charles Darwin.

Emma Darwin was a Sunday school teacher, and her Bible contains notes in her handwriting and possible notes made by her husband.

Free nursery services are provided, and transportation may be arranged by calling 817-645-7758.

The church is located at 700 Woodard Ave.
