“No Turning Back” at Rio Vista UMC

One of North Texas’ best known bluegrass gospel music bands, “No Turning Back,” will perform at 6 p.m. Sunday at Rio Vista United Methodist Church. The church welcomes all to come to a potluck dinner at 5 p.m.
No Turning Back is known for sponsoring the Third Friday Show and jams that take place monthly at the Cleburne Civic Center. The group also played at Rio Vista United Methodist Church’s fall festival in October 2007, which raised more than $7,000 for charities throughout North Texas and in support of worldwide missions.

Heaven’s Harbor in concert at church

Heaven’s Harbor, a southern gospel quartet, will be in concert at 6 p.m. Saturday at Nolan River Road Baptist Church, located at 820 N. Nolan River Road in Cleburne.
Jon Cooper, Tim Turner, Mike Turner and Randy Edmonds use their gifts and talents to lift up the name of Jesus Christ and proclaim his message of salvation, grace and mercy. The Southern Gospel Music Association of Texas nominated Heaven’s Harbor to be Group of the Year in 2006.

Texas Day at W.E.E. School

The preschoolers at First Baptist Church W.E.E. School recently participated in an annual Texas Day celebration. After completing a unit of study about the state, the children enjoyed pony rides, stick-horse races, boot races and other activities, including having their pictures taken on a longhorn steer.
W.E.E. School is a state-licensed preschool program for 2-5-year-olds and is registering for the 2008-09 school year. For information, call Denise Dunnahoo at 817-645-6684, ext. 122.
