— For a little over a year now, there has been a swagger across the White House lawn likely never seen before.
Obama rode the political waves of “hope” and “change.”
But the swagger often seen in the steps from the White House to Marine One looks more like arrogance.
During the first few months in office, Obama’s arrogance was seen on his European tour where he apologized for everything American.
Ignoring American history and the fact that it was America that once saved Europe, Obama talked and acted as though he is better than the rest of America.
Then, ignoring the fact that we are in a war against terror, he began dismantling the protections from terror attacks we have enjoyed for almost a decade.
It is clear that the Obama administration believes that foreign terrorists should be treated more like common petty criminals than the enemy combatants they are.
The fact is that Obama cannot bring himself to admit that we are in fact in a war against terrorism.
Maybe he believes that the very fact that he was sworn into office ended the war.
Maybe if we just try to understand and negotiate with terrorists and terrorist-sponsoring nations, then we can all sit at a table and hold hands while we celebrate Obama’s Nobel Peace Award.
He campaigned on a promise to bring bipartisanism to Washington. He promised to bring transparency to his administration. But the media and his opponents were not allowed to be present during committee meetings on transparency.
In his state of the union lecture, he chastised the Supreme Court right to their faces.
And he actually is bragging that his administration will just do an end around to avoid the Supreme Court. I guess he has not heard of the balance of powers.
His administration asked for an increase in the federal deficit cap that essentially is the same size as the federal government budget a little more than a decade ago.
And he gets angry when people question his fuzzy math touting that more government spending will magically decrease the deficit.
And now he is ignoring the miracle of Massachusetts.
Just weeks after the people took back the seat liberals called Ted Kennedy’s seat, Obama acts as though there was no message about his health care plan.
Kennedy spent a lifetime advocating government-run health care. Now his seat will single-handedly end the bill.
To the patriots of Massachusetts, thank you for voicing what all of America has been screaming for months.
To the politicians of both parties, maybe you had better listen. Business as usual is over.
This is a country that was not afraid to take control in 1776. And it is not afraid today.
You had better start listening to the people and stop spending us into oblivion. Otherwise, update your résumé.
At a recent town hall meeting, here’s what Obama said: “So we were just about to clean those up, and then the Massachusetts election happened. Suddenly everybody says, oh, oh, it’s over. Well, no, it’s not over.”
In one of the most poignant political moments of history, the people spoke out against Obama’s health care reform bill by electing a senator who vows to vote against the bill and to fight for decreased government spending.
After Obama, Pelosi and Reid’s attempts to coerce and buy votes, it all came down to the people.
One election. One moment. And one message to Obama and Congress: Just say no to Obamacare, and just say no to wasteful spending.
Apparently, someone needs to see if we failed to pay the electric bill for 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. because the lights are not on.
Maybe the president did not check his Blackberry for the election results.
Is the fax machine broken? Television set on the fritz? Why is he not listening?
Americans are sick and tired of being told they are too dumb to understand what is best for them. They are sick of slick smoke-filled back room deals. And they are sick of buying votes to force-feed socialized medicine.
Americans are tired of Obama’s patronizing attitude towards the middle class.
We are not ignorant. We can see government spending is the problem.
Americans are also sick and tired of government living beyond its means.
We are told that deficit spending is necessary. Well, it’s not.
Here’s the answer: Stop spending money you don’t have.
America cannot afford Obamacare. It’s that simple.
It will bankrupt the country. The people don’t want it.
So, why is Obama still vowing to fight for its passage?
Maybe Obama joins many liberals who want to bankrupt the country.
And maybe it’s just another patronizing government plan that says the people are just too dumb to figure it out for themselves.
And then maybe, it’s just the audacity of arrogance.
